I have been an editor in the field of fashion and fitness for a while, so needless to say, I have tested the sports leggings I deserve. Although there are some brands that I really like to use for specific exercises (for example, I like Sweaty Betty for high-intensity exercises, Alo Yoga is one of my top choices for Vinyasa flow, and I prefer Athleta for hiking), I find that I am A tight-fitting fan of the most important brand: Gymshark.

At the end of last year, when I moved all my belongings from my apartment in New York City to a storage room and went south for quarantine during the COVID pandemic, I admitted that I hurriedly packed my luggage. Although I have a few bikinis and casual jumpsuits in my suitcase, I mainly wear sports bras and leggings for the intense exercise program I optimistically envision (to be determined) and sweatshirts, which are used for me. No doubt will do all the wandering (checking). After opening the package, I realized that in the next few months I only brought five pairs of tights to accompany me, and I had thrown away all my favorite Gymshark pants. If you are not familiar with Gymshark, the best-selling fitness brand in the UK, it was first widely popular through social media through fitness influencers and ambassadors a few years ago. Now, it has a total of 8 million followers between its two Instagram accounts (here and here), and it has become so popular that it is basically an unofficial uniform for TikTokers worldwide. Not to mention, Gymshark is sought after by many celebrities, including Vanessa Hudgens, Alessandra Ambrosio, Gabrielle Union, Jennifer Garner, Hailey Bieber and Sarah Hyland.

But what makes the brand's leggings so outstanding? This is the highlight reel IMO: the seamless fit is incredibly comfortable and flattering, the fabric is tight and at the same time flexible enough to be worn comfortably. They have a large selection of high-waisted styles, bright and bold colors, they fly off the shelves, and they are known for their hip designs (I can attest to this). Also good-looking? Gymshark leggings may seem expensive, but compared to other leggings in my collection that cost up to $128, they are surprisingly affordable (prices range from $25 to $65). bad news? They are almost always sold out. (Related: Hilary Duff once referred to these leggings as "good booty pants"-now they are available in 30 colors)

The first pair that made me fall in love with Gymshark was the berry red camouflage seamless leggings (more like a variegated burgundy). The red is a far cry from the basic black leggings I usually reach for, but after putting on these leggings, you can’t pry them off of me if you try. I wore it many times in the same week. The super-high belt makes me feel safe, the seamless fabric is smooth and comfortable, the fold details on the back make my butt look "peachy", and the camouflage print is also very forgiving in terms of sweat stains. I should also mention that I am not particularly tall or have long limbs. The Gymshark leggings are just above my ankles and are of moderate length. I officially became a convert and found myself frustrated when I couldn't wear my favorite new pants on laundry day.

So I bought more Gymshark equipment and chose the blue and green Studio Legging, the black Ultra-Seamless Legging, the berry red Energy Seamless Legging (a mud wine color suitable for winter), and the charcoal Flex high waist Legging with a pink hue. I really want a variety of styles and colors, so I can always find something that suits my mood. In addition, I like cohesive sports and casual outfits, Gymshark provides a variety of coordinated sports bras, so even during isolation, I can always feel that I am one. Like children (I am not a parent myself, but I swear I have heard it many times-moms, support me), it is impossible to choose the favorite. However, I have to say that I like my Energy seamless leggings (Buy It, $55, gymshark.com) and my Flex high-waist leggings (Buy It, $50, gymshark.com) because they both offer different things. The energy-seamless tights are designed with compression-resistant fabrics, allowing me to be supported on Virtual Taekwondo Day. The high waistband does not slip off, and the eyelet details provide breathability and airflow, keeping me cool when I start to sweat. The high-waist Flex leggings are seamless, moisture-wicking, and have shades that enhance the shape, which is widely known as part of Gymshark's DNA. I like how the contour shadows really accentuate my curves and make me more confident whether it is lifting weights or riding a bicycle.

It's hard to believe that a brand of leggings has become a must-have in my fitness wardrobe, but it is true. I think how comfortable, likable and affordable the Gymshark brand is-their style is indeed a triple threat. Believe it or not, I actually focus on another pair: Adapt Animal seamless leggings (buy, $60, gymshark.com). Now that I have got rid of the shackles of the all-black tights, I really can't refuse to wear the purple zebra bottoms. If not during the quarantine period, when?
